theory & wings

datamonkeys! was a comic that I drew while a post-doctoral fellow. It started out as a goofy one-shot to propagate an inside joke in the lab, but I had wanted to do a regular web-comic for a while and got a little mileage out of continuing to write and draw about a small cast of young scientists and their data-mining monkey. It ran from about 2006 to 2008. I got to work on my drawing a bit (though many of the lower jaws on characters still looked painfully unhinged, even in the later strips) and some of the strips were actually pretty funny!

1 I've actually lost the first one. I still have some scans of the preliminary sketches though, and I think there's a copy lurking on my old Mac at work.
